Summer in Rome & Assisi

After two years of hiatus, the International Legislators Network (ICLN) conference resumed this year where Catholic parliamentarians from around the world gathered and meet. We planned for the trip, then came something which seems to be a huge blessing for Singapore.

The consistory for the creation of new Cardinals happened on 27th august, in the basilica of St Peter’s. We had a busy and packed itinerary but not without some true vacation.

We spent a couple of nights in the home of St. Francis & St. Clare of Assisi. A place with tranquility and peace, every corner of the roads in Assisi is aesthetically built in olden days. Imagine steep roads and cobbled paths decorated with fresh flowers, Our little ones certainly enjoyed their time there running around and playing with each other :)

Our cosy three-storey apartment in Rome was a beautiful gem located just on the outskirt of Vatican City. Many good ristorante surrounded us with delicious pizzas and pasta that captured our children’s tastebuds.

Also we had the honour of having little Francis’ & little Clare’s godpa, Clive, who was also our pilot who flew us from Singapore to Rome, to be with us for the first half of the trip.

Blessed indeed, praise be to God.
